Redefining what a beach house ‘should’ look like, we chose to push the boundaries and shy away from typical coastal styles by injecting colour and layers of pattern to create playful yet durable spaces.

Located in a prime corner position in North Bendalong across the road from bushland and beaches, the home had so much untapped potential. It just needed some vision and love.

Originally built in the early 2000’s, it was ‘tired’ and ready for an update. Keeping the shell of the house, we redesigned the first floor living area to take advantage of the views and maximised floor space with built-in dining banquette seating.

The result is a thoughtful, robust home full of fun - the type of place that will serve as the backdrop for many happy holidays to come.

To create a holiday home which would serve as refuge for our clients but in equal measure, somewhere to be shared by paying guests. The home needed to ‘stand out from the crowd’ to attract potential guests whilst paying careful consideration to the materiality - robust and forgiving, yet beautiful. Having worked with these clients on a previous project, there was a high level of trust and they were graciously open to our creativity and the individuality our Studio brings to interior design.

Scope

A complete renovation - top to bottom! We handled every aspect from design through to construction, furniture procurement and styling. Every detail was considered, including custom joinery throughout.
