Partners in life and work (lucky us!) we bring 30+ years of collective experience across residential and commercial build and design.
At the end of the day we're just people, a family, who spend each day with hands on tools to make the feeling of 'home' for other families. Getting to know is core to our professional practice and honestly, fills up our cup. This is how we can craft such personalised homes, we build a connection with you to truly understand how you want it to feel, a beautiful representation of your family.
From our early days of working life, we’ve both been obsessed with houses - Tim, in building them, and Sarah, in creating them. Tim started his carpentry apprenticeship while still in school and there was never a doubt he would become a builder, it was always his North Star. With time onsite honing his craft he then moved into Project Management, where for 13 years, he ran multi-million dollar commercial projects all over Australia.
Meantime, Sarah found herself in real estate. The exposure to such an exciting environment and peeking behind the doors of so many beautiful homes really lit the flame for what was to come. Grafting away and eventually working up to leadership roles in operations, the call to travel and explore was undeniable. In her late twenties, Sarah spent three years travelling the world with not more than a backpack, passport and open mind.
Adventures from volunteering in a Vietnamese orphanage to teaching English and living in the Italian countryside, plus all the moments in between.
Settling back in Sydney, fate crossed our paths. As partners, we continued to hone our respective crafts, with Sarah having switched over to interior design; returning to study, juggling work and assignments, learning the ropes in other people’s businesses and absorbing all she could. Fast forward a few years, and it was very clear there was a gap in the local market for a very personalised end to end building experience. What started off as Sarah Yarrow Interiors + Yarrow Build, has now grown up and morphed into, The Yarrows.
We are proudly, The Yarrows, your ‘people next door’ the kind of folk who just also happen to know how to run a design and build project with precision. And a large dose of hand holding, laughs and collaboration!
Our work blends architectural detail, functional planning and a commitment to healthy, sustainable homes. We’ve honed the craft of running complex multi-million dollar builds - from managing the trades, details and deadlines.
Our process is intentional and hands-on. We are with you at every step, answering questions, listening carefully, planning thoroughly and managing each stage with clarity. Clients choose us because we protect the vision, care deeply about the outcome and deliver quality. Having been on the other end of the renovation process ourselves, we understand all of the moving parts that go along with such an exciting (sometimes daunting) project.
